Who was in Turkey for a flamenco performance, visited The Samdan Night Club along with Yurdal Sert, Tarkan’s Boss Mehmet Sogutoglu, managers and bodyguards. When he wanted to request a dance with the girlfriend of Yilmaz Bektas, who were sitting at another table at the club, smashed a bottle on Cortes’s head. Cortes and his friends who wanted to take care of the matter were beaten by Yilmaz Bektas’s bodyguards and thrown out of the club. Cortes and his manager were hospitalized. Cortes had 14 stitches and wanted to cancel his performance and return home to his own country. The incident was brought to attentıon in political press and Samdan Club was closed for 3 days after the incident for the first time in Its 35 Year History. Spanish Ambassador, Foreign office spokesman and mutual friends intervened and Yilmaz Bektas and Pepe Cortes apologized from each other at the "Çırağan" Palace. Cortes continued his performance with 14 stitches and returned home. The performance was attended by Demi Moore and the celebrities from the Turkish community.
